Programme
This
diploma programme in Neurolinguistic Psychotherapy is offered to Master
Practitioners who are one year post certification and who wish to advance
their knowledge and wisdom in the application of NLP in the field of
Psychotherapy.
Neuro
Linguistic Psychotherapy Modular Training Programme
It
is anticipated that a student will take at least two years to complete
the theoretical knowledge base offered in twelve month cycles, and the
integration and application in Clinical Practice which extends to the
following twelve months.
The training is
offered in a safe setting to a maximum of eight participants who are
committed to the entire diploma programme. The curriculum is carefully
designed to deliver three levels of training.

of that knowledge in the application of NLP
as a Psychotherapist |

A
mirror of the supervisor-therapist relationship for the purpose
of integration of feedback and individual growth |
The theoretical
base is offered in nine modules annually with two integration modules
to complete the two-year requirement, completed in the following year.
Entry
Requirements
- Certified Practitioner
course (120 hours)

Candidates
who wish to become Accredited Neuro Linguistic Psychotherapists and
wish to proceed to the Dr Susi Strang & Associates Psychotherapy
Programme are required to complete the following additional criteria:
1.
Interview
An interview will be conducted to assess the candidate's
maturity, life experience, commitment to learning, and attitude to
the therapeutic opportunity of psychotherapy.
Candidates must have a university degree or equivalent or be able
to demonstrate graduate level thinking and capabilities e.g. management
experience (more details are available on individual application).
2.
Client Write Up
Each student is required to demonstrate their application
of learning and knowledge gained from their preparation of a client
write up following the completion of their Master Practitioner programme
in order to proceed to the Psychotherapy Programme. The write up should
be based on at least 10 hours of therapy or one to one work with a
client.
The
client write up will demonstrate the student’s capacity to do
the following:

Assess
the client’s suitability for therapy, |

Establish
a clear contract with the client, |
| c. |
Establish
and maintain an effective therapeutic relationship with the
client, |
| d. |
Provide
evidence of the methodology of behavioural modelling, |
| e. |
Monitor
the use of self in the context of therapy, |
| f. |
Effectively
manage the conclusion of the therapy, and demonstrate a basic
capacity to operate ethically and professionally in the theory
and practice of Neuro Linguistic Psychotherapy. |
3.
Demonstration of Integration of Master Practitioner knowledge
Including:
- Modelling project (2000 words)
- Personal history taking
- Advanced language patterns and values elicitation
- Change work management including time code intervention
- Reference attesting suitability as a candidate for psychotherapy

Course
Overview
The
curriculum includes all the modules required by the Neuro Linguistic
Psychotherapy and Counselling Association published in the Guidelines
for Accreditation. The following topics are taught over a 12-month programme
in 9 modules, with two integration modules conducted over the following
year.

Total
35 days, to include 245 hours of face-to-face training. Exemptions from
specific course requirements can be made for candidates who can prove
that they have reached a standard comparable with or in excess of the
requirements of the above. Each applicant will be considered on individual
merit.

This
course meets the Neuro Linguistic Psychotherapy & Counselling Association
training guidelines and fulfils some components required for NLPtCA
accreditation of Neurolinguistic Psychotherapists. Registration with
UKCP is obtained through member organisations. NLPtCA is a member organisation
of UKCP.
Course
Requirements
In
addition to the course work above, the following is required:
Development
Log
A development
log is to be maintained and developed over the course of all modules,
to reflect
- Outcome achievement,
and re-setting of outcomes
- Insight and
self awareness in areas of development, evidence based
- Feedback received
from fellow participants, assistants and tutors in the form of peer
and self assessment
- In addition
a log of hours spent on self reflection should be maintained to
be included in 250 hours of personal development required for Accreditation
Clinical Log
A clinical log
is to be created over the course of all modules to include the following:

Therapy |
- 25
hours of personal therapy with an Accredited Neuro Linguistic
Psychotherapist is required.

| Supervision |
- Ongoing
supervision of client case load by an external Supervisor
who fulfils the Guidelines for Accreditation of NLPtCA.
- Tutor-led
Peer Supervision is included in all modules to complete
the required 20 hours of Course Supervision for Clinical
Practice
|
| Insurance |
- Current
professional indemnity insurance is a requirement for participation
on the psychotherapy programme.
|
| NLPtCA
Membership |
- Adherence
to the code of ethics and membership of NLPtCA is a requirement
for participation in the psychotherapy programme.
|
| |
- The
development of a caseload over the time-frame of completion
of all modules is necessary for attendance at the final
module and assessment.
|
| |
- An
8-day clinical placement is required for completion of Clinical
Practice.
|
Completion of
the requirements of all 11 modules will entitle the candidate to receive
a Diploma in Neuro Linguistic Psychotherapy.
